Danielle Murphy is a long time resident of Cuyahoga Falls. She has twin 4-year old children that will enter the Woodridge Local Schools District in 2026. She has been an active community member focusing on service of others and an advocate for employees' rights.

Students

Continuing to provide every student with free access to exceptional public education is paramount. Danielle Murphy is a full-time working mom independently raising two school-aged children. She understands the need to protect public education and to ensure that Woodridge Schools continues its long-standing commitment to inclusiveness and providing strong academic opportunity.

Community

Engaging the community is at the heart of Danielle’s campaign. She advocates for collaboration between parents, educators, staff, school officials, and the community at large to enhance school programs and opportunities.

Integrity

Due to changes at both the Federal and State level, public education will soon face difficult decisions. Upholding honesty and integrity in decision-making is crucial. Danielle is committed to transparency and accountability, ensuring that every action taken is in the best interest of our students and the community at large.

About Danielle Murphy.

Danielle Murphy has always had one goal in mind: to help those who may not be able to help themselves. With this in mind, she attended Miami University of Ohio and obtained a B.S. in Business with a Business Legal Studies Minor. Thereafter, she attended Capital University Law School and graduated with a Labor and Employment Law certification. 

 

With her goals in mind, she became interested in a career representing employees and labor unions. She worked for the Ohio Nurses Association representing nurses and medical staff. When  she moved back to Northeast Ohio, she worked for a well-known employee-side law firm, Green Haines Sgambati, located in Youngstown. During her time with the firm, she represented teachers and staff affiliated with the Ohio Education Association. Currently, she works in-house for a nationwide chemical workers union headquartered in Akron. 

 

Danielle maintains a strong presence in her professional career. She is an American Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Fellow. She was selected to be part of the 2025 Leadership Development Program class where she was immersed in a 2-day leadership training to re-energize and re-focus on the skills needed to be an effective leader.

 

Danielle is an active member of the Union Lawyers Alliance, AFL-CIO. Additionally, she has been on the Ohio State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section Council where she contributes to the future practice of labor and employment law in Ohio.

Danielle was a member of the 2018 Torchbearers class. Torchbearers exists to enhance Greater Akron by investing in emerging leaders and strengthening their connection to local non-profit organizations. During her time in Torchbearers, she served in many leadership roles including Co-Chair of the Leadership & Development Committee and serving on its Board until 2022. During her time with Torchbearers, she volunteered for numerous activities including, working with St. Bernard’s hot meal program, KaBoom playground build in Kenmore, and the Boys and Girls Club of Western Reserve Aspire! fundraiser.

 

Danielle has been a frequent volunteer with the Akron Snow Angels winter missions and sorting/organizing events. Additionally, Danielle has served on the Victim Assistance Program of Summit County’s Mardi Gras Gala planning committee and Co-Chaired the 2020 Mardi Gras Gala, which was one of the most successful events Victim Assistance Program ever had!

Danielle is a 30 for the Future award recipient from the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce. Such award is issued to young professionals who live and/or work in the Greater Akron Region whose trendsetting efforts impact the company/organization and the community. 

​

Danielle lives in the Merriman Valley area of Cuyahoga Falls with her two children and a rambunctious cat named Cindy Lou Who.
